(More customer reviews)I bought one of these recently after my wife decided I really should be using the kitchen scale for mailing packages anymore. I never saw anything in the description, but the darn thing is wireless...which sounds great until you understand what that means.

The "wireless" feature is a line of site infrared beam with a low tolerance for angles. Which means, sure, if you have a big box, you can take the face off and get a weight reading as long as the two sensors don't lose site of each other or get blocked by the box in any way.

It does have the great envelope lid which makes weighing thin mail easy and an auto off feature which save the batteries that power the face. The auto-off feature turns off too quickly for my tastes and should perhaps have an option for disabling or extending to a longer setting.

Over all, its a sturdy scale, but if you need to read the weight of large boxes, I recommend finding a removable, wired version.
